South County Services was founded on February 10, 1975 as a community-based organization offering services to promote employment, health and well being and economic self-sufficiency for the under served populations." Geographic service area of South Sacramento County includes the cities of Galt, Herald, Elk Grove, South Sacramento and the River Delta areas of Isleton, Walnut Grove and Courtland.
