Building Division

The Building Division is a part of the community Development Department and is responsible for coordinating the enforcement of the City's Building Code and related policies concerning the construction of residential, commercial, or industrial projects. This Division provides this oversight through a plan check and inspection process that ensures that projects are designed and constructed according to the local, and state codes.

Planning Department

*On January 9th, 2024 City Council adopted Ordinance 2024-02, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Isleton Assigning the Duties and Functions of the Planning Commission to the City Council.*

The planning division is responsible for the development of long range planning policies and the processing of current applications for parcel and subdivision map changes, site plan and design reviews to promote compliance with the City’s design guidelines and principles, and the processing of conditional use permits. The division is also responsible for administering the zoning ordinance, promoting high-quality urban design, and collaborating on fostering careful consideration of historic resources. In addition, our environmental specialists manage and support review of projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

 

Rental Housing Inspection Program

The purpose of the Rental Housing Inspection Program is to address the issue of substandard rental properties, promote greater compliance with health and safety standards and preserve the quality of Isleton's neighborhoods and available housing. The program achieves compliance of health, safety and welfare code violations in/on residential rental properties that are a threat to the occupant's safety, structural integrity of the building, and a negative impact on the surrounding neighborhoods.

 

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement Officer works in association with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, Building and Public Works Departments and other local agencies to maintain community standards and address violations of the City of Isleton's Municipal Code.

What doesn't Code Enforcement handle?

  • Private disputes between neighbors 
  • Situations which are not specifically addressed in the Isleton Municipal Code
  • Emergency situations that threaten human life or property and demand immediate attention, Call 911

Isleton Historical Review Board (IHRB)
December 2009 the Isleton Historical Preservation Stakeholder Committee was formed to help develop historical goals for the City of Isleton. The committee developed policies and objectives to advance the historical interest of the city.

Ordinance Number 05-2011 An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Isleton Adopting a Historical Preservation Ordinance and Accompanying Negative Declaration was approved on August 24th, 2011.
